KITCHEN ORGANISATION IDEAS (7 TIPS)

Have you ever wondered why all the inspirational images you see of homes are always clutter free and have that ‘not lived in look’, it’s not that they don’t have ‘stuff’, there is a simple organisation system that has been implemented.

Organisation is the best interior hack; as promised this week we are continuing our theme on decluttering and organisational ideas. In today’s post we are in the kitchen and  I will be sharing my 7 organisation ideas  that I absolutely love and make life so much easier.

  1. Transparent Jars - Jars are absolutely fantastic for dry foods, so think of flour, rice, pasta, sugar etc, it is so lovely when you empty the packets after the weekly shop and replenish all the jars. I use them in our pantry but you can use them in your cabinets or floating shelves, I find that it’s really helpful to add labels so you always know exactly what you are picking up, some foods are more obvious than others.

2. Shelving units - Speaking of the pantry if you don’t have any prebuilt shelves, it’s worth either getting floating shelves or investing in a shelving unit that fits the space. I personally invested in a very inexpensive shelving unit that does the trick and allows me to have space for all my jars and baskets.

3. Baskets in a kitchen are so versatile, you can store a variety of things in them and since they all come in different shapes and sizes you can tailor them to your needs. Not only do they look great for styling, they are fantastic for storage so anything from root vegetables, to bread.

4. Spices - When I cook I like to see and know where everything is, this is why labelled spice jars are my favourite, I store them in the cabinets and when I need them I know exactly where they are and what spice is in each one.

5. Fridge Containers - If you struggle with space in your fridge try compartmentalising by putting things in plastic storage containers, not only does it look prettier it groups everything together.

6. Glass Tupperware - Have you ever put oily food in plastic tupperware and it leaves that stain that takes forever to remove? I find that glass tupperware eliminates this problem you can freeze them, pop them in the oven and also store dry foods. I highly recommend these as we use them on a daily basis.

7. Drawer dividers -There is always that one drawer in the kitchen where everything is dumped in, since we are on this journey of being intentional and having a place for everything, you can take advantage of drawer dividers to organise everything in your “junk drawer”.
